Whenever possible, media releases should be published before
7.30 a.m. or after 5.30 p.m. (i.e. either 90 minutes before the start of trading
or after the close of trading). This gives the recipients of the information enough time to
acquire, read and interpret the information. Information providers need a certain amount of time to
transmit the releases to the appropriate organisations.
In any case, the published information must be forwarded to SIX Exchange Regulation immediately.
If, in exceptional cases, publication during trading hours is unavoidable, SIX Exchange Regulation must be
notified at least 90 minutes prior to publication. This gives the SIX Swiss Exchange the opportunity to
suspend trading in the relevant securities in exceptional situations. If it is unclear how
to proceed in connection with a delicate announcement, SIX Exchange Regulation should be contacted ahead
of time. SIX Exchange Regulation is dedicated to cooperating in the search for an optimum solution for
everyone involved, even at short notice.
The target audience for all disclosure is the general public. Media releases may be
distributed to electronic financial-information media such as Bloomberg, Reuters or SIX Telekurs,
agencies and print media using fax or e-mail. The content of all media releases must
be true, clear and complete, i.e. it must not contain any false, misleading or
contradictory information.
